Senator Miroslav Krejča from the Committee on EU Affairs and the representatives of the Fraunhofer Institut IPK visited the Institute and the Archive

Prague, 8 March 2012 – The main activity of the Fraunhofer Institute IPK (Fraunhofer-Institut für Produktionsanlagen und Konstruktionstechnik IPK, Berlin) is a virtual reconstruction of the documents. In this area the Fraunhofer Institute very intensively cooperates with BStU (Der Bundesbeuftragte für die Unterlagen des Staatssicherheitsdienstes der ehemaligen DDR), where they cooperate in the pilot project on reconstruction of 400 bags (about 15 milion fragments) of shredding Stasi materials. The German guests were also interested in the work of the Institute and the Archive and expressed interest in intense cooperation especially in the reconstruction of archival materials.
