Research centre operation

The Archive of Security Forces provides its services at three research centres:

  • ABS Research Centre Prague – Siwiecova
Some archive materials were digitalised in the past by the predecessors of The Archive of Security Forces (Archive and File Service Section of the CR MoI and Office for Access to Documents of the CR MD). With regards to the poor quality of digitalisation, a substantial part of the digitalised documents are illegible. If the researcher is dissatisfied with the quality of the digitalised copy, the original archive materials may be accessed or a new digital copy may be generated on request.
  • ABS Research Centre Prague – Struha
  • ABS Research Centre Brno – Kanice

The archive building is located in the cadastral territory of Kanice (Brno-Country District), but is not accessible from this municipality. From the Brno train station, take tram no. 2 towards Stará Osada (Brno, Židenice, Stará Osada), about 12 minutes. Here, transfer to bus no. 201 or 202 and travel about 14 minutes to bus stop “Brno, Líšeň, Na Spáleništi” (stop upon request). Across the road from the bus stop, there is a service road.
