The German Ambassador to the Czech Republic Johannes Haindl has visited the Institute and the Archive

Prague, 13 April 2011 – The German Ambassador to the Czech Republic Johannes Haindl has visited the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes and the Security Services Archive. During his visit, our German guest was primarily interested in the activity and operation of the Institute and the Archive. The director of the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes Daniel Herman and the director of the Security Services Archive Jana Poddaná informed the ambassador of the main priorities of the activity of both institutions.

The external relations coordinator Neela Winkelmann-Heyrovská spoke about international cooperation and preparations for the establishment of a European Platform. Special attention was devoted to cooperation between the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes, the Security Services Archive and the Office of the Federal Commissioner Preserving the Records of the State Security Service of the Former German Democratic Republic (Bundesbeauftragte für die Unterlagen des Staatssicherheitsdienstes der ehemaligen Deutschen Demokratischen Republik).

Ambassador Haindl concluded his visit by examining the research centre and some archive records concerning Czech-German relations. He left with a number of publications published by both institutions.
