Personnel files from the Ministry of the Interior
This collection is made up of the personal files of Ministry of Interior servicemen from the birth year 1910, inclusive, and amounts to 194,400 files, or 2590 running meters. The collection contains files from servicemen of the Ministry of National Security, the all-republic (federal) Ministry of the Interior, and the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Socialist Republic, as well as from the security services, or more specifically, servicemen of the State Security Service, Public Security Service, Border Guard Service and Armed Forces of the Ministry of the Interior. The collection also contains personnel files of SNB Directorate I servicemen which have been handed over by the Office for Foreign Relations and Information. The Slovak Republic lodged a claim for the handover of some personnel files after 1992; 9,167 files were handed over to Slovakia between 1994-2006. The hand-over took place as a result of the break-up of the federation and the fact that Slovak state servicemen were concerned, or more precisely, on the basis of individual requests submitted by the Slovak side to the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic.
